Hi, newbie here.

Post by Agoop on Sat Nov 14, 2009 12:35 am

Why haven't I heard of this site earlier? Gah!

Anyway, I'm a DBZ fan who, like many I'm sure, was first exposed to competitive play mostly thanks to Gogeta (B3) and ZeroAnililated (BT2), with several others. I played from B1, have messed around with B3, and have owned B2, BT1 (Traded in eventually), BT2, and with my recent aquiring of a PSP, SB2. I do have a PS2, but it's moar my younger brother's, so I might not get around to B3 or IW anytime soon.

I'm trying to learn canceling (Can't do it for the life of me in B2, but am interested in SB2), and that's it for me.

(Also, why does Raging Blast have it's own section when Tenkaichi doesn't?)

Hi and welcome.

We don't have a Tenkaichi section mainly due to the fact nobody here plays it, and the community for it is I think, on GameFAQS.

That makes sense. A game where half the depth comes from manipulating movement rather than actually attacking, and on such a giant field strikes me as hard to play with utter seriousness. Of course, DBZ fights are so over the top that you really can't make an astoundingly deep game around them without sacrificing some technicality, or inhuman development resources.

Shin Budokai Another Road is extremely deep and simple as well. I'll tell ya that.

^ I noticed. I can actually cancel (As in perform the action, not start a combo) in this game; in B2 I couldn't- just press the guard button quickly enough, but no.

Also, if I were to ask about tutorials and choosing a main, which SB board would that be?

There's a sub section of classic games that has Shin Budokai in it. Check that out here.

Also, you can check the FAQs on Gamefaqs for SB...check this one out.
