Infinite World Emulated in HD? Empty Infinite World Emulated in HD?

Post by autobzooty Fri Sep 17, 2010 9:41 pm

Hey guys, just recently picked up IW after playing nothing but Budokai 3 for years and years. Really enjoying it after some initial trouble learning the differences.

I just now stumbled across this image of IW running in HD. Obviously an emulator was used to do this, but still, it looks amazing. Has anyone tried running this game in PCSX2 (the PS2 emulator)? I'd love to hear what people have to say about this. I'd love to play this game at this resolution if the framerate was steady.

Here's the picture I was referring to: Infinite World Emulated in HD? WyCHH

I've tried it once and it ran like shit. To run this game really good on a computer I'll need a high-end system. Imo game looks great as is.

Play the game on a PS3 scaled up to 1080p on a 40+ inch HDTV and you can get the exact same quality.

You can't get the same exact quality tico because it's been upscaled and compressed badly when played on a ps3. When you play it on a PC, trust me it's just that much crispier. I've got some photos of me playing DBZ IW and SSB Brawl.
Super Smash Bros Brawl

DBZ IW

DBZ IW doesn't look so great cause the emulation ain't as easy as the Wii emulator for some reason. Also, my computer is underclocked atm so I can't really boost up performance other than overclocking lol.

Infinite World Emulated in HD? Empty Re: Infinite World Emulated in HD?

I tried emulating IW on PCSX2 and it became very slow at least on the Dragon Mission fights. Additionally I had the same problem I had with emulating B3 where the terrain would randomly lose parts of its texture and become see through. Though it really does look good emulated, I'm not really sure how to get around these issues. I don't believe it's due to my computer not being powerful enough though as its only three or so years old.

Got it to work after playing with it some more. Looks good and plays smoothly. There's even a widescreen patch available.

Is there any sort of Netplay-type thing that could be used to play this game?

Hmm keep me posted.I may not have any modern systems but any sort of tricks that would let us play online would be serviceable even with the lag problems that always fuck everything up

I have a Lenovo y580 laptop, and the game seems to be running decent. 60 fps, but it occasionally slows down. Luckily no button lag.

that said though, i actually enjoy this game a hell of a lot more than SBAR
