How did you get into DB/DBZ/DBGT? What sparked your interest in either shows?

By reading the manga 20, when I was like 10 years old, it was the first battle Goku and Vegeta. Didn't watch the anime until maybe 4 years ago I still think the manga is better.

About DBZ i've always liked the drawing and the story.

I was looking for anime for years ever since i discovered what it was and that stuff i watched in the 80s like Voltron and Transformers was awesome for a reason.Dragon Ball was one of the first ones i found after Sailor Moon and Ranma back in the dark ages when things were impossible to find outside of really bad bootlegs with..............questionable quality subtitling

The idea of this idiot hero kid thats superhuman because he used uber-martial arts was really appealing.Next thing knew they were playing it on local TV at 5am when i was starting high school.I watched the first 13 episodes alongside Sailor Mon looping through the same couple episodes several times and only got tierd of it once i guessed that they would never go beyond those couple of episodes. My anime fix was filled then on with a channel that only existed in our city von fridays from 1pm to 4am that played random anime like Vampire Hunter D Robot Carnival or Castle of Cogliostro

Suddenly Pokemon came out and started beating National news in rating. So cue a LOT more anime coming to TV and suddenly they jump ahead on our local channel from little kid Goku going to train with Master Roshi to a grown up Goku showing up with a much biggwer supporting cast and his own kidapparently havign married the little girl with the blade helmet thingie.

I was actually told it came back by one of my friends who described the raditz fights and the set-up for the Saiyans arriving how Gohan might be stronger than everyone else and how our favorite character YAMCHA was on the team. When I finally managed to catch it was when Goku arrived and Kaiokened Nappa half to death and by the time Vegeta was going to BLOW UP TYHE EARTH plunium P-38 explosive space modulator style i was hooked. It stayed on local TV until Goku arrived to fight the Ginyu force before it moved to Cartoon Network and changed dubbers.I spent the next 2 years or so trying to see what happened next in the series and anime was huge by that time rather than just being a niche thing anymore

when i was in 6th grade i had friends that were deeply in love with the show. i mean they would watch the shows in japanese which came out before the english dub obviously. had permanent stickers they put on their desks. So i decided to check it out. I started to watch it in the middle of the frieza saga. I didn't care for it all that much so i left alone. But i really enjoyed the games. as i played the games the story became very fascinating to me so watched about 20 episodes a day starting from the beginning. *th grade or so. By this time i was a huge fan. well my junior year in highschool I met a long time friend who loved it as much as me and the rest is history. I've been a huge fan ever since.
