In the DBZ series, what is it called when both fighters start attacking each other at insane speeds?

In the series as well as the games (not to mention Super Mario Bros Z
and Sonic and the power of Nazo) there's this technique where 2 fighters
fly at each other at high speed and start attacking each other in a
fury. If this is still confusing, there's a part in SMBZ (8 bit fight
segment) when Mario gets the Super Cape and starts fighting with Metal
Sonic in a flurry of fist fighting. The same thing happens a lot during
Sonic and the Power of Nazo.

i think they call it fighting
