So I know it's completely possible to edit textures, colors, and music.
Has anyone REALLY tried to scratch the surface on editing files and code for IW?
Imagine being able to change frame data, recovery, damage, fatigue values, changing move properties, giving transformations to characters that need them.

I have no idea how possible this would even be, but maybe someone could shed some light on this and if there is a way to really go that deep I would gladly spend months learning code if we could work together for a perfect Infinite World.

No one's attempted, but it would be a great thing to attempt, I'd imagine.

I actually had a great discussion with a friend about it and he said it's possible but with the people we have willing to work on it, and our current knowledge on thing's like coding and assembly. It would be 3-4+ years before we'd have anything close to a working build.

What problems does IW have that you'd need to mod it? Or would it be just for fun?

There's plenty of issues with the game.

-Stamina doesn't drain at all once you accumulate it. This makes you dizzy at guaranteed points in the match.

-Certain characters, most notably some of the characters with real time Ults and relaunching physical DMs, are easily capable of ending rounds on one touch due to the stamina issue and general high damage. Meanwhile some characters have no way to even combo you reliably.

-Nullification is handed out in an extremely sporadic manner.

There's way more issues, but those are the main ones.

That's really stupid. I understand that it's more "real" that way, but DBZ is not Bushido Blade. Stun in general is a bad mechanic in fighting games. If you're rushing down someone, the reward is already there in your ability to keep your opponent on the bad side of your mix-ups. Stun just makes that style of play better while at the same time punishing the poor sucker that gets rushed down less of a chance to escape.

Are any characters ban-worthy? Not that I've heard of any IW tourneys on the MLG circuit, but I'd like to know if there are any truly broken characters.

Is "nullification" like a combo breaking system of some kind?

Is one of the issues the lack of an infinite prevention system? Or are infinites somewhat balanced?

The infinites are mostly fine. Some characters only get damage from them. The only problem is some characters have the roll for a teleport, which is impossible in a juggle state. That's a simple fix by giving them normal teleports.

The stun could work if they made it like Burst Limit. It's not a bad mechanic.

The only things I think would actually add to the game

Everyone starts at 3 Ki bars
Teleports cost 4
Negation spread around the cast instead of being concentrated in a couple characters

4 bar TC would ruin 3 bar characters, don't forget they exist lol.

I think adding in stamina management options, as well as fixing the stamina recovery, like Burst Limit had it, would really help the game out a bit. Stun is a fun mechanic if done right.

I think the game would also benefit from adding scaling to specials, too.
