Was Super DBZ a success or failure?
It didn't get terribly good reviews but some people say it is the best one out of Budokai and Tenkaichi....so do you think it was a success or failure?

Personnally I didn't like that game much, I prefer to play any other Street Fighter games, I played the game for like 30 minutes and got tired of it lol.

It was a failure to mainstream...but I guess a decent success for its player base.

Its aguably the best DBZ fighting game (guys at SRK will most likely say it is.
TBH I think Dimps DBZ need a little bit of an overhaul; I'd love to see a game in the vain of both Dimps' and SUper SBZ's fighting system

Super dbz is my fav behind Infinite World. Im more of a fighting game fan than a DBZ fan so the mechanics of it appealed to me. Plus for some reason my non-dbz fan friends actually liked to play it with me.

Yeah it's great for playing against friends, just like SF, Budokai games are more for practice mode lol, at least for me.

Practice mode in the B's is very rewarding for sure. Especially with all the huge combos people have found. Not much need for that in Super if u at least know the street fighter formula, and most people do so that definitely leads to more "party play". The street fighter thing is also a bit easier to execute in Super cause of the string attacks so its alot easier to cancel into galic guns and whatnot making the game more instantly rewarding for newcomers. I really like that in IW you can do sorta the same thing by being able to put in kamehameha's and stuff in between any of the normal string moves for the same reason.

I haven't played Super DBZ much although I bought the game, the thing is it is a whole new mechanic for me, if it was more like SF where you blocked with back, 2D gameplay, faster paced.. I would have got the hang of it in no time, I think i was just too lazy to learn lol.

It would be awesome if it was a little bit faster but as far as having backwards for block; that would be a big hinderance to this game. Actually back for block is something that really bothers me now. The reason for that is lack of control over your characters movements. Say u want to back up and your way across the screen so its not like your trying to avoid anything, your just trying to get into a better position. The thing is if your enemy is doing anything attack-wise, instead of backing up you will stand there and block air. Also for a game with string attacks the block button can usually be used to stop a string. Like In Virtua Fighter and even the Budokai games u can press PPPG to make the string stop completely, allowing u to input the same string over again without having to worry about doing a delayed fourth hit from the first one. Anyway this has led me to not enjoy games like Tekken 6 very much and I used to be Tekken crazy.

I mean in the Budokai games I block with R1, if it was with R1 it would be fine, of course I can always change it. It was a game that was supposed to ressemble Street Fighter so why not make a game that plays completly like SF? lol. But I was too lazy, i'm sure it's great to play against friends.

Thats true it would have been cool if it played more like strait forward 2D. It would have been like a new Hyper Dimension.

I didnt find that funny and the use of a film icon like Sean Connery makes it even more appalling, and since he's Scottish he would spell it 'mum'.
