Now i dont fault the NA VAers because they have a heck of a tough job alot of things simply dont translate and the fandom can be really demanding.Nonetheless we have seen great dubs [FLCL Bebop etc] and we have seen complete shit[Yugioh BELIEVE IT] and DBZ is at best mediocre at worst a compete fuck-up

DBZ had Laura Bailey so it's good by default.

And Trollcap, I don't think he sounds action heroish, at least not in a GI Joe sense. Listen to the Ocean Goku who did the later episodes, Kirby or something. He sounds so stock compared to Schemmel.

Schemmel's real voice actually sounds almost exactly like his Goku voice, he has stated that the only thing he does when playing him is he thinks happy thoughts. He doesn't put on a voice so you can't really accuse him of trying to sound like an action hero.

I still think he's the best actor to voice a Goku in any recording I have heard, which are Funi, all the Ocean Gokus (3 I think, each getting progressively worse than the last) and the Japanese one. The first 2 Ocean Gokus werent bad, but they were fucking forgettable. I have not heard much of the actor who did the later episodes, but from what I have it's terrible, not in a technical sense, but holy shit, so stock.

Japanese Goku sounds fucking stupid, I dont care what you say, getting a woman to voice a fully grown adult male is just dumb as batshit. I don't care if Toriyama hand picked her to voice his most famous character, still sounds stupid.

Back on topic, Funi is a fail, C.Sabat plays over 15 characters, Vegeta sounds almost exactly as Piccolo, Jeice is a clone of Yamcha with a different accent. Laura Bailey, well she fails at playing Goten and nobody give a shit about Videl.

And Kyle Hebert, lmao that dude played Ryu in SF4 and can't even pronounce Hadouken correctly, it's a fuckin pain in the ears. Seriously, japanese anime characters with american accent = fail.

Lol at calling me an asshole, it's just the internet, you think i'm the only one who has a problem with the horrible voice acting of Funi? I was looking at the Raging Blast review of Game Trailers and they mentionned how pathetic the voice acting was, not only the voice acting is bad, but the script is not even close to the original. Kid Trunks is not bad, but the jap Trunks is superior.
